The first of two volumes collecting documents by the winners of the mathematics awards given by the Wolf Foundation from 1978 to 2000. While the other major mathematics award, the Fields medal awards young mathematicians, the Wolf prize often commemorates mathematicians for a lifetime of work. The documents include a curriculum vitae, bibliography, and several seminal papers and speeches. The arrangement is alphabetical rather than chronological.
